I have rarely, if ever, looked up an author after reading a written piece in a popular magazine. However, this article was beyond thought-provoking. I've often heard and felt that Americans have a fascination and unhealthy fear of death. We're drawn to it because we know its coming, but we don't want to imagine ourselves (or anyone else) as 'long gone'. Thank you for this thoughtful piece.
